The battles of monsters and men are rarely so simple, as they are in fairy tales. The real irony is that the monsters are not always who you think they are in the beginning, and those who claim to be heroes may well turn out to be the villains in the end. It is also likely that the villain does not exist purely to be evil, but is the hero of his own tale, one in which the underlying cause for his journey is darker, more painful, and far more complex than that of his foil.
Because we are beings of both chaos and order, there is a constant battle within each our souls to discover which is stronger: the "monster" or the "man". This conflict is the definition of humanity and the cause of insanity.
